This is on my knitter's to-do list! I've been knitting for many years and I can't believe I've never steeked before. I've read about it and it's not that it intimidates me; maybe it's just that I don't do a lot of colourwork, or maybe I only do colourwork that doesn't need to be steeked.
Shannon over at Very Shannon (along with Andrea of Drea Renee Knits and Caitlin of Boyland Knitworks) is hosting a stEEk-ALONG! TAKE THE FEAR OUT OF STEEKING! There are three prompts in the challenge, which starts today, and the commitment is manageable: knit a swatch in the round and steek it. Everyone, including me, will be posting their results to Instagram. This is such a great way to dip your toes into the steeking waters and get some practice, and they've linked to some good resources on steeking. This makes me feel like I have an experienced knitter holding my hand!
I'm off to look stash-dive and to look for a good colourwork chart. Let's get steeking!
