Sweater Four, Installment One: Rainbow Stripe Sweater

I'm designing this one myself, using a yarn from Sea Turtle Fibre Arts.  Sarah is an indie dyer located in Calgary, Alberta (just three hours' drive from me in Edmonton).

I picked up her Ridley Sock yarn in the colourway Rainbow Brite (love the name!) from the Alberta Yarn Project, which is housed at the Made Local Society here in Edmonton.  Similar colourways include 80s Glam, Balloon Bash, Happy Face, and Lakehouse.  I took so many pictures of the skein because the colours are amazing!  And my swatch was really interesting, because the rainbow part produced a bit of a stripe pattern.  I'm excited to see how the repeats in the yarn behave when I start knitting a larger tube - I have in mind a toddler sweater, and I hope that the two skeins I have will be enough.  I am enjoying the way the rainbow stripe works against the grey - it's so exciting to knit!
