I know how to crochet -- in fact, I learned how to crochet as a way to use up my piles of yarn scraps -- but I've been knitting a lot more than crocheting lately. When I saw this, though, I was so tempted to start a new project. Alessandra over at Homemade at My Place has written up a really nice tutorial.
Is there nothing you can't do with granny squares? They've been around forever, but done up in bright colours and new shapes, they look so modern. And granny squares would be really cool done in the new speckly and tonal yarns that are becoming more popular these days. So inspiring, and a great way to use up scraps!
